Helping Witchampton's Little Owls

 28th Jun 2018

Little Owls Pre-School and Nursery in Witchampton has been providing childcare and early years education for childrern aged 2-5 for over 20 years.  Their current premises at the Methodist Chapel in Witchampton is to be sold, and a new location needs to be in place by Summer 2019.

After alot of deliberation and exploration of alternative sites, the plan is to move Little Owls onto the Witchampton First School site which means we need a purpose built Pre School which will be there for many future generations to come; 'The Nest Box'.  Following positive meetings with the Wimborne Academy Trust and external consultants, a planning application is about to be submitted.  The next challenge in this exciting journey is to secure funding and the Pre-School is approaching LEADER and the Talbot Village Trust for grants totalling £105,000, but in order to qualify for this funding, they must first raise £45,000 to demonstrate the community's commitment to the project.

Little Owls provides an essential community service for rurally isolated families and also provides the reception intake at Witchampton First School.  Not only is Little Owls an essential service for working families, but it is also crucial for the long-term survival of the village and the communtiy as a whole.

Little Owls is therefore asking for pledges, however big or small,  to help fund 'The Nest Box'.  A pledge is a promise to deliver money later; in this case by the Summer of 2019, providing the grants can be secured.

Harry J Palmer is pleased to be able to give the Charity a boost of £5,000 to set them on their way!
